Gauge pig is also known as Profile pig. It is designed by using 4 sealing discs and 2 guiding discs. A bend plate is installed in the middle of the tool to inspect the minimum bend in the pipeline and a gauge plate is installed on the rear side of the tool to inspect the reduction/min ID of the pipeline. The transmitter is installed in the pig to track the location during operation.
Gauge pig is used to analyze below in the pipeline
· Min bend in the pipeline.
· Reduction/obstacle in the pipeline.
· The valve is partially open in the pipeline.
· Dent or ovality in the pipeline.
· Hot tapping/weld penetration obstruction in the pipeline.
